Michigan Ski for Light provides sit skies for the mobility impaired to experience cross-country skiing. The sit ski has parallel waxable skies that fit in the cross-country tracks and you propel yourself with your poles. A guide accompanies you to assist on up hill grades.

On the trail |
Michigan Ski for Light has been playing in the snow for over 30 years. It is based on a Norweigen event called Redderrennets Venner. The king of Norway believed that everyone should enjoy out door activies.
Thirty years ago we started out with a pulk sled for the mobility impaired. This was a flat sled with very short poles and was useless except for going down hill or being pulled by a snowmobile.
Today we have advanced to the sit ski which challenges the fastest cross country skier.
We have four sit skies and would like to see a group from a college murder ball team or ice hockey team to join us and try cross country skiing. I guarantee you will get a good workout.
See our Ski Event Page for more information.
You can sign up on line on our Mobility Impaired Registration Form .
Also you will need to down load and sign our Waiver of Liability for the ski outing.
